97% of women suffer MUCH more than they need to during the menopause

This isn’t anything new to you, you’ve probably experienced it yourself.

You go to see your doctor with menopause symptoms and they instantly want to put you on HRT without any testing before hand or follow up afterwards…

Think about this for a moment…

  • How on earth can they know if the dose is correct or if they are even giving you the right hormones if they never determine what is going on ‘under the hood’ before hand?
  • Once you are on HRT treatment how can they tell if it’s working or doing more harm if they never check through blood or other testing?

Despite your doubts you feel so awful you’ll do anything to feel like yourself again and so you either go along with them or stubbornly stick it out trying to sort it out yourself, following half baked advice from the internet.

Surely there’s a better way to go about this?

The Greatest Lie

Nothing will change until you understand this

But once you do, feeling like the real you again is easy

Hey I’m Sam.

I’m a health & fitness coach for those who want more out of life.

The over 40 come to me when they want a body which allows them to keep on doing the things they love for life.

What On Earth Does a Bloke Know About Menopause…?

Let’s address the elephant in the room. I am a man and men do not suffer from menopause so what makes me qualified to help you?

For 2 years I had no libido…

I could barely get it up…

Which wasn’t a problem as no girl would have me. I was impossible to put up with as I felt so awful every day.

I went to see specialist after specialist all of which wanted to put me on HRT. I resisted as my gut feeling was this wasn’t the correct answer

I eventually decided to take things into my own hands and started running tests of my own…the results astounded me.

My testosterone levels were though the roof!

I had high Testosterone levels for an 18 year old and I was in my 40’s. If I had followed the doctors advice and gone onto HRT I would have done a lot of damage, most of it irreversible.

This experience, and my subsequent recovery, using totally natural methods taught me several things which apply equally to women in menopause as to they did to me:

1) If you are going to go on HRT you need to know what is going on “Under the Hood” before you take a tablet or apply any patch or cream.

If you don’t run any tests before you start your HRT how on earth do you know if you are taking the right hormone or taking it at the correct dose?

Hormones are powerful and have a huge ability to drive health or disease in the body. Many standard approaches involve calculating your hormone dose based solely on your age and symptoms and then never checking back to see what effect they are having.

This is the equivalent of giving someone chemotherapy without first checking to see if they have cancer or that it’s affecting the cancer when it’s been administered.

2) Your hormonal needs will change based on age and lifestyle

As you age your natural hormone balances shift. You at 18 will look very different hormonally to you at 48. Likewise as your lifestyle habits change your hormones will adjust accordingly.

So you’d better be monitoring your hormones over time and changing the dose accordingly.

3) If you don’t have your lifestyle dialled and are taking HRT you’re putting a band aid on a knife wound and hoping for the best

Do you know what the has the biggest impact on hormone levels in the body?

Lifestyle.

Most women on HRT wouldn’t even need to be on HRT if they made a few simple changes to their lifestyle first.

I’m not talking about anything you don’t already know about here,

  • Managing stress
  • Controlling diet
  • Exercising
  • Getting enough sleep
  • And a whole host of things you’ve likely never thought about…

Guess what?

None of these have unpleasant side effects and all of them will leave you feeling better irrespective on any effect they have on your hormones.

Make no mistake if you’re not addressing these basics first you’re setting yourself up for higher and higher does of hormones every year with more and more unwanted side effects and less and less benefits as time goes on.

At the very worst, addressing these first will mean you have to take a lower dose of HRT and feel a lot better for it than you would otherwise.

4) Balancing hormones…the clue’s in the title

Getting through the menopause is all about managing the very delicate balance between hormones. Too much of any one long term and you’ll start to see chaos cascading through the body leading to unwanted side effects.

Let me give you an example. Testosterone is essential (for men and women) for a healthy libido. Too much testosterone and your body will convert the excess in oestrogen to maintain balance.

Ok fine…

Unless you already have enough oestrogen. Now you’re oestrogen dominant, will put on weight, develop brain fog, sleep poorly and a whole host of other unpleasant things

Oh and while were here oestrogen is also a massive driver of growth in the body which is why too much of it can lead to cancer.

In short hormones are powerful and need to be tightly controlled if you are to experience the benefits without the side effects.

How It Works

99% of Menopause Programs have it backwards.

You shouldn’t be even considering HRT until you have measured where you currently are and applied as many lifestyle changes as possible.

How can I make this claim?

Because most menopause programs focus on HRT, the research for which is built on very shaky foundations.

Sure HRT can work but often it works short term and leads to a dependance on meds which is totally unnecessary.

Lets look at some of the problems with HRT as currently offered by the NHS (I’m not bashing the NHS here, I love them, but they are so woefully undermanned and underfunded they just cannot do everything they need to do)

  • Limited Personalisation: Many NHS HRT regimens are standardised, often overlooking individual variations in lifestyle, diet, and stress levels. A personalised lifestyle program alongside HRT can address unique needs more effectively.
  • Lack of Holistic Support: The NHS often prioritises medication over lifestyle counselling due to time constraints. Lifestyle adjustments are essential for many women, but they typically receive less attention in NHS care.
  • Long Wait Times and Lack of Follow-up: Women on the NHS often experience long waiting times and limited follow-up support, leading to a trial-and-error approach with HRT. A lifestyle-first approach offers immediate steps they can control and implement, empowering them during these delays.
  • Potential Side Effects: Although HRT can be highly beneficial, it can also come with side effects, especially if dosage or type isn’t ideal. Lifestyle adjustments may help reduce the amount of HRT needed, minimising side effects or supporting a gentler transition onto medication.

In building this program I’ve deeply researched the science and pulled apart what is demonstrably true for all people across all spectrums of life and what is marketing BS.

I’ve then refined it on hundreds of in person clients.

And I’m afraid the jury is in…if you’re just blindly taking hormones without measuring their effect or factoring in lifestyle changes you’re living in the dark ages when it comes to the menopause and could likely feel a LOT better than you currently do.

So what do I do instead?

Focus on what is demonstrably true.

I run the most sophisticated hormone panel on the market before I do anything. Then based on your results I apply targeted lifestyle factors and natural supplements to balance your hormones in a way which not only doesn’t cause side effects but actually improves all other systems of the body at the same time.

This works if you’re currently on HRT or not.

Focus on all the other lifestyle aspects which contribute to menopause.

Sleep, digestion, stress levels…these all play a massive part in whether your hormone levels balance or not.

Focus on building health rather than exclusively obsessing over 1 thing.

Hormone balance should be a natural consequence of great health. Many programs focus on hormones at the expense of health.

Focus on long term health and balance.

Health isn’t health unless it’s long term. I don’t just want you feeling better for a few weeks I want you to feel amazing, to be bursting with energy and to age better for the rest of your life.
